Tasmania: Franklin-Gordon

The day we set out on a 4-5 hour drive from Hobart to Franklin-Gordon Rivers National Park without booking any prior accommodation for the night because we weren’t sure where we would end up. We took our chances and pulled up at the first motor lodge we found in Queenstown, where we had the best sleep ever in two motel rooms (goodbye backpackers and bunks) , with pizza, beer, and cider for dinner. Other note-worthy events in between: Michael spilled our newly purchased box of $3 triple chocolate chip cookies, more pebble skipping, walked the Frenchman’s Cap suspension bridge route for 15 minutes (then turned back) instead of the whole 5-day trek, climbed so close to Nelson’s falls after the rain and it was spectacular, dew beads formed in my hair and I felt myself getting a free mist spray.
